Why does my business need a HR Consultant?
Many small businesses do not have an inhouse HR function as it may not be cost effective or practical to have the expertise inhouse. However, HR is a qualified profession and should not be ‘tagged on’ to a junior employee due to the implications of getting it wrong.

Where is Ask HR Limited located?
Ask HR Limited is based in Kent, UK, with a virtual office in London for client engagement when required.
We are happy to travel to client premises, subject to agreement and Terms of Business, or to meet virtually via Teams.
I receive HR support through my bank. Why do I need a Consultant?
Many small businesses will have access to ‘HR support’ through their bank, HRIS system, or even their insurance provider. However, these are usually partnered with large corporate employment law firms (no names mentioned).
Our experience is that ‘HR support’ is often in the form of a helpline, and the HR documentation is basic and generic. The business owner is expected to act upon the verbal guidance issued and see the matter through to fruition, without a specialist by their side.
Engaging with a HR Consultant allows business owners to focus on the areas they are good at, whilst we take care of HR. Additionally, at Ask HR Limited, we will partner with you to really understand the business; providing a fully tailored approach with no off-the-shelf templates.
What are your fees?
Ask HR Limited provides a pay-as-you-go consultancy service. We do not believe in charging clients a retainer package, and will work with your business when it needs it, where it needs it.
Consultancy is charged in 15-minute increments, and all invoices are provided alongside an itemised timesheet. However if you wish to discuss a project for a fixed scope and cost, please use the Contact Us page to enquire.
